The Burger King restaurant chain, also known as the second-biggest burger chain, announced today the launch of its new line of "Homestyle Melts" sandwiches.

Described as "sandwiches just like mom used to make", the line includes varieties...

Honey Butter Homestyle Melt - a breakfast variety featuring sausage, egg, honey-butter sauce, and melted American cheese on butter-flavored sourdough bread, and

Bacon Double Homestyle Melt - boasts four half-slices of crispy bacon, three slices of melted Swiss cheese and two hamburger patties smothered in a creamy garlic cheese sauce all between buttery flavored sourdough bread.

The sandwiches are available now, for a limited time.

To market the new Homestyle Melts, a series of television spots include three vignettes that feature four moms who are angry at the King for encroaching on their turf by offering melted sandwiches served on soft buttery bread. The moms try to defend their territory, but the King ultimately wins them over with his offerings of greasy-fried decadence.

Has anyone, in any 'home', seen such a meal served? How is this 'homestyle'? Does anyone find the commercial where the three mom's attempt vehicular homicide disturbing? Sure you do!

Who cares how much fat is in the burger! If you have to question it, then you shouldn't eat it.

these homestyle melt sandwiches (lunch) are so delicious it's nuts. i've gotten them every day for a week. i could care less how fattening they are. they are damn good. the combination of the buttered sourdough bread, yummy patties, bacon and cheese are so good i'm addicted. i hope they make these part of the menu. absolutely scrumptious.

Had one of these today and it was horrible. Don't look at the picture before you order, because what you get is so, so sad compared to their claims.

It WAS cheesy - but I didn't notice any sauce, and the bread was crazy dry.

I bought one last night after being impressed by the ingredients I saw on the tv advertising. I bought it, and they put RANCH DRESSING on it. I would have otherwise enjoyed it.

Its sad to see the Homestlye Melt go, that sandwich was so freaking awesome, now that their gone im gonna try to make it myself "Homestyle". I ordered these things 2-3 times a week after work and omg the combination of the texture and this cheesy sauce they put on it made the burger fantastic. Im only one person but I plan on calling them and letting them know how much Id like to see it on the regular menu! Cheers to all you Homestyle haters...
