Godiva Chocolatier added four new flavors to its line of gourmet ice cream.
How very nice! Now, why have both of the local supermarkets ceased to carry Godiva ice cream at all?
By , at 7/04/2007 05:56:00 PM
I also noticed that my favorite ice cream has disappeared from supermarket shelves. Anybody know where it is retailed?
By Andi, at 7/16/2007 09:36:00 PM
I have just talked to the Godiva people and they have stopped making the ice cream. I'm devastated.
By Walter, at 7/23/2007 02:08:00 PM
Aaaaaaaaaaggggghhhhhhhh!! I LOVED Godiva ice cream and it has spoiled me for all others! I have hunted all over to no avail. Thanks for that update Walter. But it breaks my Godiva-lovin' heart
By , at 7/28/2007 06:14:00 PM
heartbreaking. the chocolate cheesecake ice cream was to die for.........
By , at 8/16/2007 04:33:00 PM
I am also very sorry that Godiva has chosen to quit making ice cream. Their classic milk chocolate was my fav. If they aren't going to make it why don't they share their recipe.

Unbelievable! My husband was just saying tonight that he had to look online to see if they discontinued his favorite ice cream- he is completely addicted and so upset that he can't find this ice cream. Godiva White chocolate raspberry has broken my husband's heart.
By , at 8/29/2007 06:06:00 PM
my heart is broken as well... to make someone fall in love and then take it away... shame on you godiva. :(
By kat, at 9/05/2007 07:38:00 PM
I can't believe it, I love the Chocolate Raspberry Truffle and have gone to every store in the area looking for it. I sure hope that they change their mind and begin making it again.
By , at 9/05/2007 09:30:00 PM
I'm with the previous poster...Chocolate Raspberry Truffle was my very favorite of all time. Seems like we all went thru the same experience of trying to find it, for over a year, only to now learn that they discontinued their ice cream business. Very sad. Someone should form a Godiva ice cream withdrawal support group. GICAA (Godiva Ice Cream Addicts Anonymous).
By , at 9/08/2007 11:36:00 AM
The Belgian Dark Chocolate was unsurpassed in chocolate taste. I am not an ice lover but this ice cream made me an addict. I cannot understand why why why they stopped making the best ice cream in the world. I think there should be a senate investigation or something. Can't com millionaire purchase the recipes and start making all those absolutely fabulous ice creams.
By , at 9/08/2007 06:24:00 PM
Yup, I am not an ice cream lover either and I couldn't resist the Chocolate Raspberry Truffle. 5 minutes at room temperature and it was a little slice of heaven. It will be missed.
By , at 9/08/2007 09:26:00 PM
I too am broken hearted not to be able to buy Godiva's white chocolate raspberry swirl. I have been told the ice cream division of Godiva has been bought by Dreyers ice cream. If that is the case I hope they use Godiva's recipe and recreate this wonderful treat.
By , at 9/24/2007 03:22:00 PM
Wow I had no idea Godiva was discontinued!!! Especially since I'm still buying all flavors in my local 99 cent store. It seems as though this store has an unlimited supply of Godiva ice cream for only $1.50 each!!! And they taste perfectly fresh so luckily there's no catch to buying Godiva ice cream from a discount store. I wonder what their story is for having tons of Godiva ice cream long after it's been discontinued!!!
By , at 10/06/2007 05:47:00 PM
Commercial ice cream lasts quite a while if it's stored at zero degrees F. Lisa, you're evidently the lucky beneficiary of some distributor's warehouse somewhere.
I'm jealous.
By , at 10/09/2007 06:30:00 PM
Ugh!! I got into a car accident 2 weeks ago while driving to my 6th supermarket looking for Godiva Vanilla with the carmel-filled chocolate hearts. I want to cry. Godiva owes us an explanation! Hey, Lisa...where is this heavenly dollar store?!
By , at 10/11/2007 09:13:00 AM
I'm boycotting Godiva until they bring those amazing ice creams back! White Chocolate Raspberry for the win!
By , at 10/11/2007 11:29:00 PM
I spoke with a Godiva rep around June of this year and they told me that Godvia is trying to find a new company to make their ice creams. Apparently Coolbrands Inc (the current makers of Govia and various other ice creams) ran into some problems. A brief search of the web led me to http://www.coolbrandsinc.com/investors/pressreleases.asp
I believe Godiva has every intention to bring back their ice creams as soon as they are able to find the right company for the job.
It would be nice if Godiva would just make an official staement so that we can sleep a little easier.
By , at 10/16/2007 10:39:00 AM
brooklyn hunny, where else!! haha
oh how i wish i could sell all that Godiva ice cream from this "heavenly dollar store" on ebay for big bucks, lol! how much would YOU pay to taste it again?? hehe
for now though the supply has been reduced from 6 flavors to only 2, waaaaaa. The 2 that are in seemingly endless supply are vanilla/blackberry and cappuccino with chocolate hearts
i think the real reason godiva stopped making their ice cream was that they caused too much weight gain among folks with this product that i would best describe as sex for the taste buds!!! :) :)
By , at 10/27/2007 02:36:00 AM
I've been looking for the belgian dark chocolate for months. This is devistating. I'm going to buy an ice cream maker and try to duplicate it. Every time I really like something, it's gone forever.
By , at 10/30/2007 06:37:00 PM
I have been in withdrawal for nearly a year now. I'm glad to finally find out why I can no longer locate my most favorite comfort food. I suppose it's just as well, since I packed on 10 pounds eating it every night! I will dream of the creamy vanilla with caramel chocolate hearts with a smile on my face. Unfortunately, Haagen-Dazs just doesn't cut it. I hope you are all correct and some other ice cream manufacturer will pick up the recipe and the fill hole in the market. I am going to start a GICAA in my neighborhood in hopes of surviving this devastating news. whaaaa
By , at 11/05/2007 02:09:00 PM
ive been all over looking for their milk chocolate ice cream for the past couple months and couldnt find it. hope they find a new company to make their ice cream again soon. i havent found another that remotely comes close to their awesome recipe.
By , at 11/20/2007 06:47:00 PM
I am honestly depressed. I have been looking for white chocolate raspberry(WCR) for the past six months, hoping that the next time i go to the grocery store i would find it in the freezer. If any of you gals or guys find any ice cream that tastes half as good as WCR please please let this WCR deprived chic know about it. I just happened upon your blog after searching for Godiva ice cream myself and leaving an e-mail to Godiva on where I might find it. I just recieved an e-mail back from them saying they were working on getting the product back on the shelves since the relationship between them and their manufacturer had hit a snag. They stated they would e-mail when it was back. so there is hope!
By , at 12/23/2007 04:49:00 PM
My girlfriend has been ranting and raving about this ice cream for a while now. When I found this page and told her she began to weep... no not really but she is very sad over the loss of godiva dark chocolate ice cream...I sincerely hope it comes back as nothing quenches the sinner's soul like devilish chocolate.
By , at 12/24/2007 01:25:00 AM
I loved the white chocolate raspberry and begged my husband to buy each of us a pint each weekend. A very active person he passed unexpectedly Jan 29th, 2007 from heart failure. We normally ate very little icecream. Godiva contributed to his passing as it was sinfully delicious and our downfall.
By , at 1/30/2008 01:50:00 PM
Who can we sue??? Withdrawal synm,dsatoms.. sosoo baaadddd iii cannn hardllyy tyyyyypwee.

Godiva ice Cream has vanished from Gainesville, Fl.
Where can one get it?
Our favorite Godiva ice cream is chocolate Rasperry
By , at 2/09/2008 02:59:00 PM
After searching, in vain, for months for Godiva Belgian Chocolate Ice Cream I am at least pleased to find others sharing my sense of loss. I felt as though I was the only one unable to fill the void until my husband found this site. Hopefully the Godiva people will contract their ice cream out to a new supplier and re-enter the market. I don't know what happened between them and Edy's, which I believe was the company producing their ice cream, but I cannot imagine that another company wouldn't be willing to step up. Til then, anyone looking for a similar flavor might want to try a product that is, unfortunately, also difficult to find: Royal Dark and Sweet chocolate pudding. NOT the instant, but the kind you must stir over a low flame. Believe me, its worth the time if you can find the mix.
By Joli, at 2/17/2008 12:47:00 PM
I was happy to at least find some confirmation that I am not crazy, that Godiva ice cream existed at one point and I didn't just imagine it.
I want my frickin' Godiva Vanilla Ice Cream with Chocolate Caramel Hearts. Nothing can compare to it or even vaguely resemble the taste.
By , at 2/17/2008 03:33:00 PM
godiva with caramel hearts was out of this world
By , at 2/18/2008 05:38:00 PM
Now I see wwhy its not at Publix OR Albertsons--
The Dove Chocolate will have to do---it pales in comparison though....
By , at 2/18/2008 06:44:00 PM
I miss the milk chocolate and the white chocolate raspberry. I had just discovered the pints at a good(2.49-2.79)price at Target not long before they discontinued production. I'm still amazed at all of the new brands that i see popping up in the grocers freezers. Unfortunately, they pale in comparison to Godiva.
By , at 2/21/2008 08:10:00 PM
It was my favorite ice cream... Nothing can compare to Godiva... I really wish they will bring it back someday...
By , at 2/24/2008 03:30:00 PM
We should write, call, and chat with their customer service line.
I just went to www.godiva.com and chatted with a rep and let her know about my sad state without WCR and Vanilla with hearts.
I also sent an email to this address: letters@godiva.com
Please do so we can bring this great product line back!
By , at 3/08/2008 06:40:00 PM
went to the godiva store at aventura mall (miami) and asked why they stopped making the ice cream. the lady said they have had so many inquiries that they are bringing it back although sher had no timetable or details beyond that. chocolate raspberry truffle was unbelievable!
By , at 3/13/2008 10:03:00 AM
I can relate to all the grief expressed by Godiva lovers. Talenti Italian gelato has helped lessen my pain and eased the withdrawal symptoms. My drug of choice would still be white chocolate raspberry...so until it is available I will beef up my 12 step meetings. Mary
By , at 3/16/2008 06:51:00 PM
I remember when Godiva's container was shaped like a rectangle!!! I have been devouring White Choclate Raspberry since '03 ! Chocolate with Caramel Hearts and the Black Raspberry Vanilla!! OMG ! I could not take it!!! I hope they return soon and Im happy I found a support group to cope with the pain! God be with all of us until the Ice Cream returns!! lol!
By , at 3/18/2008 11:08:00 AM
I remember there was a time when I would just mention "Godiva Ice Cream" to my soon to be wife and her face would light up and no matter how mad she was at me, Godiva Ice Cream would always make her forgive me... Now, and for the past year.... I am forced to do what all men w/o Godiva Ice Cream have to do...... Apologize....... *cries* =( .... Chocolate Raspberry Truffle was the best!
By , at 3/25/2008 11:31:00 PM
Wow! I'm not alone. I need my Godiva DBC. I've tried Haagen Daz DBC and it's no comparison. How could they do this to us??
By , at 4/06/2008 11:52:00 AM
Godiva's Belgian Dark Chocolate was also MY very very favorite ice cream -- rich quality flavor that I have found in no other ice cream. With ALL of these passionate fans, Godiva should let someone else make the ice cream with the original recipes if they are not going to start making it again.
By , at 4/13/2008 12:36:00 AM
Any new news on this?!? I just added this site to my RSS feeds. I can’t believe the free world no longer has Godiva ice cream. We should all get together and start writing Godiva executives—and I’ll tell them I’ll be hoarding their ice cream so life can continue if this disaster should reoccur. Long live my White Chocolate Raspberry overlords!
By , at 4/14/2008 07:02:00 AM
I, too, have just sent an e-mail to Godiva begging for the return of their Chocolate Raspberry Truffle ice cream.
I'm glad to know there are many others already trying to correct this horrible injustice!!! :-)

any update on this? is it back on the shelves yet? my sis and me are desperately trying to find this piece of heaven...
By , at 5/05/2008 02:01:00 PM
Please bring back the Chocolate Raspberry Truffle. It's the BEST ice cream ever!!
By , at 5/05/2008 06:10:00 PM
How nice to know, as others have stated, that I am not alone, or crazy. Milk Chocolate ice cream w/ chocolate cheesecake DID exist, and our time together was precious, and delicious. I am off to go write letters to some people in charge...
By , at 5/15/2008 02:27:00 PM
So sad :( I too have been endlessly searching tons of grocery stores within 30 miles of my house with no luck. I can't believe they stopped making a product that clearly was the best ice cream available nationally. The white chocolate raspberry was AMAZING.
As to a previous post in reference to the amount willing to pay for a pint of Godiva - easily $5-$6. Ice cream will never be the same - Ben & Jerry's tastes like saw dust compared to Godiva. :( Godiva, are you listening?!?!
By , at 5/18/2008 07:53:00 PM
hi i have been eating this ice cream for over ten yrs i noticed it was just gone i loved the rasberry chocolate truffle and the carmel heart;s but i have been looking for dove ice cream not the dove bar's the ice cream the pint there is a ad on tv for it and i just found it a ralphs grocery store in ca i have not tried it yet but dove and godiva chocolates taste alike so i will let you know may be we found a good one just like godiva
By missblonde777, at 6/05/2008 06:30:00 PM
I am so glad to know I'm not the only person desperately seeking Godiva ice cream! The classic milk chocolate got me through a painful divorce a few years ago, but withdrawal from the ice cream itself is certainly worse than the divorce:) Any word on its return?
By , at 6/10/2008 10:57:00 AM
I am so happy to learn that there are other Godiva Ice Cream "addicts" out there!! Bless you for the wonderful posts! We shall get through this tough period. I sent an email to Godiva today asking for the recipe for the white chocolate raspberry ice cream. The person that emailed back said the company is searching for a new company to produce their ice cream. Keep the faith fellow "addicts"!
By , at 6/15/2008 06:05:00 PM
We also miss the belgian Dark Chocolate and chatted with a gidvia rep last night. they actually asked we we wanted to be put on aloist to be notified when the ice cream goes back into production and naturally we were all over it. So hopefully that means soon.
By , at 6/20/2008 05:22:00 AM
I would also like to express extreme disappointment in Godiva Chocolates' not selling thier ice cream any more. The belgian chocolate was to die for. But they know thier chocolate is amazing, and make a product people, evidently, will buy.
Why make so many people be so disappointed? SHAME SHAME SHAME!!!

Claire from Montreal- Eight years ago I came to the states for a visit and bought some Godiva chocolate ice.I only bought it because it was a small container. I came back to my hotel room and I just could not stop eating it. I was amazed I tasted the best ice cream ever. When I went back to Montreal I told everybody I knew about it and I started to look for some in Quebec. They don't export it to Canada.I was devastated. After that on my every trip to the states I had the urge to buy my favorite ice cream.I haven't been in the states for last 3 years. I went to the store no Godiva ice cream. My husband went on internet and we found out that Godvia ice cream doesn't exist any more.My trip is spoiled. aaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now that I read all the comments of my new friends the Godiva ice cream lovers it made me feel a little bit better. But I discovered all the flavors that you guys loved so much and never had a chance to taste.aaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pure torture.
By , at 6/30/2008 03:02:00 PM
Claire from Montreal second time around.I forgot to mention that since I ate my ice cream on vacations only I have a photo of myself eating my Godiva ice cream .When I go back to Montreal I will look at my picture and think about the good old times.Bonjour to all my Godiva ice cream lovers. We must keep the faith. We will get the best ice cream in the world back!!!!!!.
By , at 6/30/2008 03:51:00 PM
I was a Godiva addict too - and i noticed right away in 2007 when they stopped selling it. I contacted the company and they said the same thing that some of you were told: that they were searching for a new manufacturer to work with. That was over a year ago, so I am no longer holding out hope that they will resolve this. I hope I'm wrong.

I just checked with Godiva's live helper on their website--they still don't have a date yet as of when they will start making ice cream again. I can't believe I still think about white chocolate raspberry--the best ice cream I have ever had! You can leave them your email address--they said they would email me when it becomes available again.
