San Francisco, CA-based Alexandra Watlington Candy Co. is offering a new line of Belgian chocolates under the name "Adult Chocolate".
It's interesting that the chocolates are called 'adult'. To me that implies some sexual connotation. Maybe the company wants to convey the fact that these chocolates are an aquired taste, but I think that they should have chosen a better name.

i keep seeing these in the berkeley bowl grocery store, but i never pick them up BECAUSE of the name... i also think that "adult chocolate" has something to do with bedroom kink and i'm always confused. also, the price seems a little steep for so little chocolate... for local bay area choco delight, scharfen berger is a satisfying fix...

I had these chocolates today and they are fantastic. The reference to "adult chocolate" I believe is due to the fact that it isn't as sweet as milk chocolate which is a preference of children. This chocolate is great and I will buy it again.
