Saltworks has a good variety of "gourmet salt" for retail and wholesale. While perusing their offerings, I found one that looks rather interesting.Fumee de Sel is premium sea salt (Fleur de Sel) that has been slowly smoked with chardonnay oak wine barrels. It is prized for its gentle smoke flavor with a savory hint of wine.After having had plain old table salt for all my life, this sounds pretty darn good.
Great on all meat and seafood! Other uses: Try on pasta, salads, baked potatoes or eggs and potatoes at breakfast.
